How do I calculate a percentage of a number?
To calculate X% of Y, multiply Y by X and divide by 100. For example, to calculate 20% of 150, you do (20 × 150) ÷ 100 = 30.
How do I find out what percent one number is of another?
Divide the first number by the second and multiply the result by 100. For example, 30 is what percent of 200? → (30 ÷ 200) × 100 = 15%.
How do I calculate percentage increase or decrease?
Subtract the original value from the new value, divide by the original value, then multiply by 100. Example: from 100 to 120 is a 20% increase. Formula: ((120 - 100) ÷ 100) × 100 = 20%.
